We first met in March 2004 on the internet, Doug saw my profile on msn and contacted me and we started to get to know each other chatting on yahoo messenger. After talking on the phone and chatting and sending email, Doug came to see me in Surabaya, Indonesia for the first time on September 7, 2004. We met at the Juanda airport. It was a funny feeling to meet even though we had been chatting and talking so long. It was awkward and we were nervous. But life goes on and our love continued. We had a small celebration for our engagement and invited my friends and had dinner together. He stayed for two weeks and we enjoyed every single moment together.
Doug's favorite colors are purple and blue. He likes to wear jeans and t-shirt and tennis shoes. He's just a regular guy and that's why I love him so much. He treats me so nice and with so much respect. I like to see his smile and he likes to make me laugh. He also knows about computers and the internet, which is good cos I don't and he helps me. He also likes to go out and have a good time, like watching movies or just walking around shopping at the mall with me. He loves all kinds of music but hates dancing. He cares about all animals and he also has a good heart. He has a genuine desire to make everyone happy, especially my parents even if it means he needs to make sacrifices. I love that about him!
Diya's favorite colors are pink, purple, brown, and white. She likes to wear something comfortable that looks nice on her. She also likes to wear makeup but not too much. I'm ok with that because she's beautiful with or without makeup. Sometimes she sees herself in a mirror and says "I cant believe I look so pretty" or " I'm so fat". I think that's cute. She also cares so much about people and about what happens in the world. She likes politics and has compassion for animals. She's a good girl, she's not arogant or selfish. She loves music so much and sometimes she sings along and I have to hear it too. Sometimes her voice is horrible but hearing her sing, makes my heart happy.
We just celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary (6/17) while visiting family in Indonesia. We had a great time and for the first time while we were there we had enough time and money to visit a lot of nice places. We got a chance to visit the whole family during EID and went to the beach and did some snorkeling. Hopefully next time we will get a chance to do something without the kids. Gili islands come to mind!
